Some of you may be new to Boca Chase while others simply have not taken the time to research and study all the formal documents which define our obligations as residents in Boca Chase. For example, here are a few of the many questions answered in the document references listed below. Did you know:
- It is the resident's responsibility to maintain his/her property in a presentable fashion and in harmony with the general appearance of the neighborhood. . Yards must be frequently mowed and trimmed and kept clear of weeds. Hedges must be trimmed (6' height restriction unless at a perimeter lot which allows 8' max height), and roofs and sidewalks kept free of mildew growth. While it is the responsibility of PB County to maintain the physical condition of sidewalks (phone the Road and Bridge department at 561-233-3950 to report needed repairs), it is our responsibility as residents to keep sidewalks clean and clear of mildew which not only is unsightly, but is a serious hazard to safety when wet.
- Commercial vehicles are permitted on personal property only while in the process of performing a commercial service. No campers, RV's, water craft, or trailers are allowed unless stored in a garage with the door closed. Pickup trucks used for personal transportation (as opposed to commercial vehicles with telltale signage, equipment racks, tool boxes, etc.) are permitted.
- Any modification to the property, including landscaping, structural change to the residence, new roofing, and painting must receive the approval of the Architectural Review Board (see ARB form on home page for required application).
- All garbage receptacles and recycle bins must be stored out of sight when viewed from front of the property.
- Dogs must be on a leash and not allowed to run free in the neighborhood. All dog droppings must be picked up.
Those items listed above are but a few of our common failures to adhere to the rules of the community. We hope that by pointing those out to you, and by providing the governing documents below, you will be better equipped to understand what is expected and how you might contribute to a continued show of pride we all have grown to appreciate.
